A Shabby Shrub in a Deserted Desert

There in the far deserted desert
Was lying a shabbily grown shrub
Withered and burnt in the heat
It wasn't elegant or marvellous
Neither was it beautiful nor was it neat
It was just a shabbily grown shrub
Only born to bear the brunt of the heat

Passers looked but no one noticed
All were in a hurry to cover the distance
And cared least for a shrub in a wasteland!
Lying all alone in the desolated desert
It only hoped it will rain in the end
And by its side it will have a forest
Instead of miles of just barren sand

Clouds did come but least they cared
As quickly they also wanted to reach
To the mountain range where few dared
Why waste labours on an untidy shrub
When a lush green forest could be gazed
So it rained in an already quenched forest
While the thirsty shrub helplessly stared
